Hi there, I spent a few months in Cambodia teaching at the landmine museuma few years ago when Bel was at High School. It was a privelige to live with them, learn about their history and culture. I miss them all but hope one day to get to see Bel again.

This gives some insight but important is what will we do about it? My wife and i saw the situation at first hand quite unexpectedly ten years agoand knew we from t over-consuming West could do something if we chse to - so we started helping and giving and the results can be seen at www.rice4life.sg

Good on you for this great post.

I'm going to donate $100 for 2 weeks rent for KILT. I challenge other food bloggers/food blog readers to do the same (particularly those who can afford to eat out regularly in Sydney!).

Sacrifice one good night out per year and make a difference! And eat a simple meal at home.

Thanks.

What a truly wonderful experience Billy. Thank you for sharing the story and photos, it's so sad that people have to live like that, but really uplifting that they are doing something positive about it for their community.

I have a tear in my eye Billy! This is a truly eye opening post...when you see things like this it makes you realise even more, how lucky we are to be able to eat and have a roof over our heads. Thank you!

Loved this post. Reading about people who are less fortunate always helps me put my life into perspective and makes me feel so grateful. Thanks for giving us insight into the people at KILT and how we can help them!
