Malaysia Culinary Tour 2012

Join Masterchef’s Billy Law on an exclusive 9-day Culinary Tour in Malaysia – he will share his personal journey of food, love and family in the country where he grew up.

Start with exquisite Malaysian cuisine, stir in the finest cooking demonstrations and private food tours, add a dash of incredible sightseeing, and you have a truly unique, personally guided culinary journey through Malaysia, with MasterChef’s Billy Law. This 9-day itinerary explores the superb multi-cultural Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines, with an exclusive Nyonya cuisine cooking demonstration, and dinner with Malaysian celebrity chef Florence Tan.

Stay in four and five star hotels throughout the tour, from the hustle and bustle of the city in Kuala Lumpur, to the charming historical town of Melaka, and the foodie’s paradise of Penang. Here, you’ll enjoy the Penang food trail tour – taking in Little India, wet market and shrimp paste factory, as well as a private hands-on cooking class at the Tropical Spice Garden.

Malaysia is a melting pot of different races and cultures, that’s why you get exposed to a lot of different styles of cuisines including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Nyonya and even Portugese. It is not uncommon to find Malaysians greeting each other by asking “have you eaten yet?” instead of “how are you?” During the 9 days, I will show you what this food obsessed country has to offer.

Hosted by MasterChef’s Billy Law, the tour guarantees a personal journey like no other, through the cuisines of Malaysia. Billy grew up in Malaysia, and is passionate about showcasing the flavours of his home country.

Is the tour applies for Australian citizens/residents only?

I am interested in being shown around an area by a “local” as much as the
cooking classes. Would like to know if this would be suitable. I also love food!

Hi Linda, this tour is exactly what you are looking for. You will learn how to cook malaysian cuisines and I grew up in MAlaysia for 19 years, so I will show you the food I grew up with. Will definitely bring you to a few off beaten tracks to hunt down some good food :)
