Get your jelly on #05 – NEON WAVE

Day 5.
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!
This jelly I am going with the national colours of Australia, the classic green and gold combo. Also, the summer is slowly approaching, so I intend to make something more refreshing, lemony. And Aussies love summer and surfing, when I saw this lopsided jelly turned out of the mould, it immediately reminded me of ocean waves, hence I called it NEON WAVE. Actually, even the song choice for the jiggle test is an Aussie duo! Can you guess who?
I made a real simple jelly for the Royal Selangor 30-day βGet your jelly onβ challenge today. Nothing fancy here, just a simply jelly using Aeroplane jello powder, the lemon and lime flavours. I reckon it will go well with some chopped up fruit and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, I’ll be a happy chap!

To make this jelly is lot more trickier than I thought it would be. My idea is to split the jelly in half vertically, but not horizontally, which means the only way I can do this is by wrapping the mould with clingwrap tight so it doesn’t leak, then pour half the jelly into the mould and let it set lying down. Once set, then I can pour the other flavoured jelly into the mould later the right way up again.
Sadly I was impatient, I didn’t even wait for the jelly to cool down and poured straight into the mould while the lemon jelly still a bit wobbly. Big mistake, the lemon jelly started to get soft while the lime jelly still warm and trying to set, hence you can see the tip of the jelly is now just full of lemon jelly instead of a beautiful split. And the lazy me also didn’t measure how much Aeroplane jelly powder I used for both sides, so ended up the lemon jelly is lot firmer than the lime jelly and that’s why the jelly is lopsided.
Nevermind, I will give the idea a try again but make sure I’ll be patient next time. But this Neon Wave sure put on a good show on the boombox, so ‘will it jiggle?’
And make sure you come back each day for a new tit-illating video! Seriously, there are some really good ones that you simply can’t take your eyes off!

Get the jelly mould out of the fridge, remove the clingwrap, then pour the mixture into the mould and this time let it set upright in the fridge.

Hahahaha that’s hilarious. I love how the little pieces of jelly are flinging out from the lime side.
bumpin into your blog because i am so impressed with all 1o creative people on earth
I wish you all the best and rock on!
I love all your photographs Billy
Awesome! I am lovin those rockin jellies
I actually like how it turned out! It’s a great take on a neon wave.
Oh I love this one. It is so beautifully flawed and so rock n roll when the music comes on and the pieces start jumping ship, like a little fragile broken Amy Winehouse type if she was jelly. GRHS.
hehe… I actually like it coz it is wonky
Hello Billy,
I’m really enjoying the blog. The Jellyrific Challenge is an awesome idea! I love the creativity in your jellies for each day and how you don’t let yourself become constrained to just jelly. Also thanks for sharing the recipes, can’t wait to try some! You’re an inspiration!

Also, as far as a jelly idea. It might not be possible but, as a painter I have always loved the effect you get when you first dip your dirty paintbrush in a cup of clean water, how it sort of curls through the water like a vein. If it were possible to create a clear jelly with that sort of effect, that’d be cool!
Laura
keep the vids up they’re great!
AEROPLANE JELLLLLLLY!! YUMMMMMMEH!
thanks for sharing your *imperfect* jelly. it’s good to know I’m not the only one who lacks patience!!
would’ve been super cool if you were able to get it half half! still looks awesome though
This jelly looked ready to party before the music even started. A true Aussie!!!
I love the end result of the setting error. It gives it a very “organic” look! Not a fan of lime jelly, but I totally get the concept. And remember, breasts are so great because of each pair’s unique shape! Trust me on this one
