Fridaylicious 101 – #8 – Green Pink Caviar
Video from Marilyn Minter – Green Pink Caviar website
It’s Friday again, time flies when I am super flat out these days with work, blog and also my exhibition. Yes, my first solo photographic exhibition – The Red Balloon. If you are in Sydney and art is your thing, then drop by at the Danks Street Gallery and check out some of my work and say hi! Well, there’s always a Danks Street Depot next door to refuel your appetite after checking out the gallery.
So today, I am bringing you something a little artsy on Fridaylicious. A film called Green Pink Caviar, by artist Marilyn Minter, shooting models swirling and sucking bakery products from under a pane of glass.
“I was shooting stills of models with long tongues swirling and sucking bakery products from under a pane of glass. I wanted to make enamel paintings along the idea of ‘painting with my tongue’. My makeup artist shot some short videos during the shoot just to see how it would look. The low definition videos looked so good that we made plans to do a professional high definition video. This made sense to me as I have made both billboards and produced a commercial advertising a painting show in 1989.”
- Marilyn Minter
It is artsy, sensual, seductive and revolting at the same time… just like caviar I guess…
You can find out more about her work at her website.

Congratulations on the exhibition! I wish I could have a look myself.
Quick note, you should put a warning before the vidoe, I viewed it before reading anything and was kinda taken aback. So it is true, food IS sexy….if not a little gross! lol

Oh. Dear. God.
The first few moments was ahh… wow. Like really wow, though got a little creepy towards the end. Regurgitation of food isn’t what I consider sexy.
Then it went downhill from there…
