Ms K brought along the big beads necklace, and Ms Vegetarian kindly lent me the mascara for the faux beauty spot, and I have to keep dropping phrases like “my grandmother’s recipes”, “this is my version of xxx”, “explosions of flavour”, “building the layer/depths of flavour” while cooking, because everyone thinks it would be funny for me to dress up as Kylie Kwong and impersonate her while I am preparing food for the chinese new year dinner banquet over the weekend. I am really not sure whether it is a good thing or bad things that it is so uncanny… it is rather disturbing.
